KNIGHT, JOHN LEON, SR. - age 69 of Maryville went to be with the Lord Friday, October 25, 2013 at UT Medical Center. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a man of great faith. John was a member of Heritage Bethesda Church, and the Local 309. He retired from Alcoa after 41 years of service and was a member of the 25 year club and Betrayed Retirees Organization. Preceded in death by: parents, John and Gladys Knight; brothers, Ruben James Knight and Joseph Leonard Knight; sisters, Lucy Caroline Knight and Margaret Lucille Loveday. Survivors include: wife of 50 years, Thelma Emert Knight; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and David Courtney, Konni and Greg Snyder; sons & daughters-in-law, John L. II and Kim Knight, Jody and Michelle Knight; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Savanna Snyder, Kassidi, Kalli and Kelsi Knight, Shelby, Andrew and Jacob Knight, Kristin Courtney. Honorary pallbearers; Richard Brown, Ernie Kemper, Bill Starritt. Ron Noe, Joe Sharber, Johnny Blair. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Bishop Buddy Sweet officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Birth to Three, 422 Ellis Avenue, Maryville, TN 37803.
