A Christian's prayer when you don't feel God

Journey Thru the Forest

O' call to me Lord
please let me hear your voice
The path before me is one I must take
but I take reluctantly.
I must find you my precious God,
I must find you so I may take rest at your feet.
Call to me O' precious Lord
do not be silent, call to me in a loud voice
so I will know that it is you.

Meet me O' Lord
even if only half way
God the forest around me is thick and large
and I know I cannot make it on my own.
God I try so hard to find you
but my forest is grown up without a clear path to take.

Which way my God?
Which way shall I go?
I am surrounded by thickets and thorns who make my journey so slow.
God I am running so hard to you but not moving any faster.
My body pulls and jerks away from the thorns that dig into my flesh.

God how long have I been searching for you? A day, an hour or a year?
God I have lost track of all time.
God I praise you for bringing me out of the valley, O thank you most high God!
But God I was unprepared for the forest that I must go through.
God I was high on a rock, oh how I wish I could dwell there forever.

But God I must find you again!
Please do not hide from me.
God I praise your name.
My body is bleeding from the thorns that tear my flesh,
but God I will praise you!
Every thorn that rips out is a step closer to you.

Oh my God please RUN to me!
God I have been listening and waiting for you
but God it is getting difficult to hear you.
How long must I live in this forest?
God I want to come rest at your feet.
Lord I am tired and my heart and body
are badly bruised.

Restore me my God. Rescue me my Lord.
Is it your desire for me to suffer through the
thorns and the thickets?
If so, God I will praise you!
If I must suffer to get to you God, then I will suffer with a thankful heart.
But please my Lord, let me hear your voice so I may know that I am in your will.
Even in the forest I can look up and see you and know you are God,
but dear God I beg you to come down to me. Let me find rest in you.
God I feel alone and scared and need your comfort.

My foolish self thought that after you delivered me to the Rock
and spoke to me that there would not be any more trials and more
difficult paths before me.
God I love you and I praise you!
Please hear my cry.
Run to me my God!

The thorns have snagged my clothing and stopped my journey home.
God please deliver me out of this terrible place.
This evil place is not a place my Lord dwells,
but I pray my God that you would deliver me from the painful dark memories
that surround me.

I will always seek you Lord, and I will seek to find.
Deliver me my Lord from this forest and from myself.
Chop down the thickets so I may run to YOU quickly my God.
Silence the voices in my head that lead me further away from you.
Encourage me O' my God when I feel like giving up.
Lead me to you precious Jesus so that I may have rest.
